Feb. 23, "sneak peek"  of Dyngus Day PARTY at the Dnipro Ukranian Centre, 562 Genesee St. 

The Central Terminal Restoration Corporation wants to remind you that
there will be a fantastic party coming up soon! If you have never been to
Dnipro Ukranian Centre, this is your opportunity to see this fabulously
unique venue! It is filled with "Old World" charm! We will be serving
beer from Flying Bison, cidre from Chateau Buffalo, and food from Ulrich's
Tavern, Bistro Europa, The K Sisters and Melanie's Sweets. We will have
music from the Buffalo Bells. In short, you can catch a "sneak peek" of
Dyngus Day at the Central Terminal.

All of this can be had for a $10 admission charge! ALL proceeds are for
the benefit of the Dyngus Day Parade! Pick up your tickets now for this
event to be held on Saturday, February 23 from 7 to 10 pm. Visit any of
our vendors for tickets or pay at the door. But PLEASE don't miss your
chance to join us in a great party at a great place - Dnipro Ukranian
Centre, 562 Genesee Street. I will be there - and I hope you will be too!

March 24, Monday - Dyngusday!

March 25, 2008 Maple Weekend began more than a decade ago when Wyoming County maple producers opened their doors to the public to showcase the production of maple products from tree to table. The first event, known then as Maple Sunday, demonstrated how maple syrup was made by tapping trees, collecting sap and boiling it into syrup. Producers also provided samples and sold maple products to the public.
This year, Maple Weekend will be March 29-30 from 10am – 4pm each day.

March 29, Sat. Fabulous Feast and Auction to benefit Shakespeare in Delaware Park. 6 - 10 pm at the Connecticut Street Armory. $75 for non-members, $65 for members. Shakespearean dress encouraged but not required. Five course meal, auction, dancing, singing etc.

April 19, SatHoliday Valley Wine Tasting Dinner
 A 5 course wine tasting dinner prepared by executive chef, Tim Brushingham, and a night at the Inn at Holiday Valley. $149 per person, based on double occupancy.

April 26, Sat Historic High Tea at 2pm the Ellicottville Historical Society will be hosting a Victorian High Tea at the Ellicottville Memorial Library.  Guests are invited  to dress in vintage clothing and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.  A variety of tea sandwiches and scones with clotted cream, jam and lemon curd will be served along with the tea .  A brief history of tea will also be presented. 

The price to attend is $7.50.  Tickets are not offered for pre-sale but if you would like to attend please call in your reservation to 353-1380 or 699-4618 and leave your name, telephone number and the number of people attending.

July  13 - 20 Canal Fest of the Tonawandas  Along the Historic Western Terminus of the Erie Canal.[Ed's note: This is one of the really big events in the Northtowns area with lots of rides and fun for the whole family!]

July  17 - 20 Italian Heritage Festival 2008- Sorrento Cheese  - Hertel Ave. - between Delaware and Colvin [Ed's note: This is one of the really big events in the area with lots great Italian food and entertainment and fun for the whole family!]

August 6- 17  America's Fair (formerly known as Erie County Fair) [Ed's note: The food area is fantastic! There is something there for everyone. Italian food, BBQ, Ox roast, Pig roast, seafood, etc. etc!]

August 9, Sat. BBQ and Beer Festival - at the Central Terminal

August 15, 16, Fri, Sat, The Summit Hosts the Smokin’ Eagles BBQ Championship!
The Fraternal Order of Eagles will sponsor the area’s first National BBQ Championship at The Summit on August 15-16, 2008. Contestants will be competing with rules from the National BBQ Festival (www.nationalbbqfestival.com) and the Best-of-the-Best Invitational. Categories include barbequed chicken, brisket, pork and ribs. 
The Grand Champion Team/Cook will win a spot to compete in the National Best of the Best Invitational being held in Douglas, Georgia on October 31-November 1, 2008. Enrollment is open to the public and potential contestants can learn more by calling (716) 695-3755. Applications may be obtained at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club at 7269 Ward Road, North Tonawanda, 14120, the Summit Mall Customer Service Desk, Town of Wheatfield Town Hall, or on line by emailing to dkwiatkowski3@roadrunner.com. The public is invited to share in the fun by sampling entries (Saturday, 8/16), observing the judging, listening to live bands, enjoying a beverage at the beer tent and visiting the concession booths.

September 27, Sat. Picnic on the Plaza VI: Oktoberfest , 6pm-12am - at the Central Terminal. Celebrate Autumn in traditional Munich style! Enjoy an evening of music in the concourse “beer garden” with Western New York’s most in-demand German band, the Frankfurters! Choices of beer, food, soft drinks and merchandise will be available. Guests in costume get in for free!
