Cool and Easy !!
Summer Peppermint Dessert
3/4 cup crushed peppermint candy
1   cup milk
dash salt
2   teaspoons unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
8   oz. cool whip
23  chocolate wafer cookies
     Combine candy, milk and salt in saucepan. Heat over low heat,
stirring until candy dissolves. Soften gelatin in cold water and dissolve
in hot mixture. Chill till partially set. Fold in cool whip.
     Break 7 cookies in half and stand around the outside of an
8 in. dish. Place a layer of whole cookies in bottom of dish. Pour
1/2 peppermint mixture over. Repeat layers. Chill 6 hrs. or overnight.
Sprinkle with some wafer crumbs. Cut in squares. Makes 6 - 8 servings.
