     Fresh "home grown" corn is finally available!
Corn Chowder
4     slices bacon                   1    cup water
3     medium onions, sliced          3    cups milk
      shrimp (optional)              salt and freshly ground pepper
4     medium potatoes, sliced          to taste
       skins on
1 1/2 cup fresh corn
1     chicken bouillion cube
Fry the bacon until it is crisp. Drain and reserve it. Saute the
onions in the bacon fat until tender, then transfer to a 3-quart
saucepan along with the potatoes, corn, bouillion cube, and water.
Cover and cook 15 min. Add shrimp and cook 2 min. more. Add milk
and heat almost to boiling. Add salt and pepper. Crumble bacon on
top.
