Cinnamon sticks (Great for the Holidays!)
3/4 cup sugar
1 8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup ground walnuts
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg - beaten
1 cup butter - softened
Combine first 3 ingredients. Set aside. Beat butter and cream cheese together. Gradually add flour, mix well. Shape dough into ball, wrap and chill 30 min. Divide dough in half. Put 1 portion between the sugar mix on wax paper. Roll into 10 in square. Brush with egg. Sprinkle with 1/2 sugar mixture. Cut into 5 in. by 1/2 in. strips. Twist and place on ungreased sheet. Repeat with remaining dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 17 to 19 min. (till golden) Cool on racks. These can be frozen at this time and warmed up any time for breakfast or with tea.
