Sun. April 19,1998      Chocolate Chip Coffee Ring

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1    cup sugar
2    eggs
1    cup sour cream
1    tsp. vanilla extract
2    cups flour
1    tsp. baking powder
1    tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Topping:
1/2    cup flour
1/2    cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking cocoa
1/4    cup cold butter or margarine
1/2    cup chopped pecans (optional)
1/4    cup semisweet chocolate chips

    In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs. Add sour cream and
vanilla; mix just until combined. Set aside
    Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in the
chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 8 cup fluted pan. For topping, combine, sugar and
cocoa; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans and
chocolate chips. Sprinkle over batter.
     Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 min. Cool 20 min. and remove from pan.
